Kerala Police has launched a Telemedicine application for facilitating medical consultation for its personnel engaged in duty during the lockdown period. The Kerala Police, has been a pioneer in the use of technology for furthering Policing activities. During the Covid 19 pandemic, the State Police came up with an innovative application for the welfare of its personnel – A Telemedicine Mobile App for medical consultation for the personnel who were engaged in duty. As we are aware, the Lockdown period increased the workload of Police Personnel who were in the forefront in enforcing the lockdown regulations . So Kerala State Police in association with the Indian Medical Association and Blue Tele Medicine Group, launched a mobile application through which the personnel could directly engage in a video call with a doctor for medical consultation, even while on duty. IMA provided the service of 94 doctors from various specialities who had been empanelled for this service. The App registered 7,800 downloads in the first two weeks of its launch and over 5300 appointments materialized.
