More than 400 videos were created by various Police units across the State with a view to create awareness among the public as to how the Police has been equipped to face the challenge. The video made by the State Police Media Centre casting the Police officers in a dance which explains the importance of proper hand washing has gone viral across the world featuring in almost all countries. The video got accolades from international channels like BBC, Reuters, AFP, ANI etc.
The Social Media Cell of the Kerala Police has played a major role in boosting the general image of the police and in ensuring community support for the various initiatives of the police. The videos, trolls, posters etc created by them have been widely accepted by the public. The social media platforms of Kerala Police have been famous for its witty content and tounge-in-cheek responses. With more than 1.4 million followers on Face book and around 2.5 million followers on Tik-Tok, Share chat, Twitter, You-tube etc the awareness campaigns and videos gained international recognition. Besides this, awareness posters have been regularly sent to the public through a number of WhatsApp groups.
