Kerala Police projects have received five
awards of Smart Policing Award 2021 instituted by the Federation of Indian
Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Kerala Police also got the Special
Jury Award. Sri. Rajpal Meena, DIG, Armed Police Battalion received the awards at a
function held in New Delhi.
CHIRI, an online helpline project, received
the Smart Policing Award in the category of ensuring child safety. CHIRI is a
program that provides counseling to children who are suffering from mental
stress, through telephone. Many children have been able to get relief through the
online counseling during Covid through this project.
Kerala Police Assistant Chat-Bot service has
bagged award in the Community Policing category, while the Disaster and Emergency
Response Division got award in the Emergency Intervention category. Mindful
Life Management (MLM) for Police got award in the Training and Capacity
Building category and the Centre for Employee Enhancement and Development
(CEED) bagged the award in the Other Policing Initiative category.
Kerala Police also received the Special Jury
Award in the category of Smart Innovative Policing in consideration of
implementation of innovative ideas in various fields in Kerala Police.
