Online Financial Fraud: Call Centre Launched

                               Kerala Police has set up a Call Centre to lodge complaints against online financial fraud. Sri. Anil Kant IPS, State Police Chief, inaugurated the Call Centre at the Police Headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. ADGPs Sri. Manoj Abraham IPS, Sri.  S Sreejith IPS, and Sri. Vijay S Sakhare IPS and other senior police officials attended the function. 

 Victims of online cyber fraud can lodge complaints by calling the toll free number 155260 round the clock. The move comes amid a spate of frauds targeting online financial transactions. This will enable the victims of such frauds to lodge complaints without delay. The centralized call centre which works round the clock operates under the Central Government's Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System.

 Public can contact the Call Centre as soon as they become aware of the cyber fraud. The police will immediately notify the bank authorities through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and the transfer of money will be stopped.  The complaints will then be handed over to the cyber police station and case will be registered and legal action will be taken.
